A question about lyretail anthias. I had to replace a male that died (wasn?t eating)... the new male eats heartily. However, he is slightly smaller than the female who has been in the tank for a few months.... she chases the male around every once in a while. Clearly she is the dominant one.
Now, I know in a group of females the dominant one turns into a male. Would this be possible with another male present? Could I end up with 2 males?

Yes, she will most likely still turn into a male if the change has started. I've had 5 Lyretail, all females and dominant one turned into a male but 6 months later another female also turned into a male.

Thx. She already has the "pointy" top fin now. i don't see the coloration though
