Worm

There is some sort of worm on my clams shell....it seems to be a part of the clam.....it pertrudes out of its tube and starts to spin some kind of web....anybody have an idea of what this could be...

No not a feather duster, i can i.d. those very well.....looks like a peanut worm with a hard cover on its head for protection when it goes inside its tube....

Did you check the Hitchhiker's Guide stuck atop this forum? Look for Vermetid gastropod.

Ohh man Its a vermatid snail.....how do i get rid of it

They are harmless, but you can just break off the tube as low as possible, but be careful they are sharp!!!! RD

Harmless or not it keeps spinning a web around the clam and i don't want it to die.....if anyone knows how to remove these please let me know if you can help me out....my first clam and i don't want to mess it up....

HAHAHA....I tried that last night...without even knowing what it was...i kinda worked a lil but i saw him stick out his head a lil....the clam kept spitting water at me....:irked:

well i superglued a small rock into its shell....I don't think its ever coming out of there.....

I have one that is making a mess of the tank. He completely covered my purple gorgonian!! :-<

i just take a butter knife and scrape them off the shell, it alwawy works for me.
