Free Gorilla Crab

Caught this 2" crab last night. I didn't even realize I had one :banghead:

I'm in the northeast Bronx. Although, in the morning, I'll be in heading thru Brooklyn tomorrow on my way to Far Rockaway.

I had a gorilla crab in my acro, ate the hell out of it and I bannished it to my fuge, he got out and went back to the acro, BAD BAD BAD, now he's frozen and flushed. Hope the acro recovers!

hate to hijack, but how did you end up catching it?

1. Tank lights were out
2. I was turning off the light above my sump when I noticed a "crab-like" silhouette against the front glass in the tank
3. I turned on the actinics and saw a 2" gorilla crab
4. I turned off the actinics :idea:
5. Ran to get my large brine shrimp net :Up_to_som
6. Turned on the actinics...it hadn't moved :sgrin:
7. Netted him and placed him in a specimen container

Like I said, I didn't even know I had one. Had it retreated back to the rocks after I first saw it, I doubt I would have ever caught it.

Jon - it's actually cute and looks almost like a little porcelain crab. If it's OK I will leave it. So far everything looks good on the acro. Ron:smile:
