The water was ICE cold when the box arrived (overnight express)
They used a cardboard box with a garbage bag inside, lined with styrofoam inserts, and two small (dead) heat packs...needless to say i'm a bit more than P O'd!!!
At this point they have not returned my calls or email?!?!:headache::mad:

i don't see anything wrong w/ the acan.

the chalice will regrow, given the right conditions

the clam is closed from all the stress. it may or may not survive

w/ proper care everything should be ok. it's been pretty cold lately and i would expect these things to happen.

The chalice (after the photo),lost all it's tissue after placing back in the water,The acan polyps look like they are exploding and spewing out thick white slime. They are also falling off the rock.
The clam started opening but... how long can a clam survive in water that was below 50 degrees? I think they are all gonners?!?!

You need to slowly raise the temp and drip acclimate them hopefully if you do it slow enough they will survive.

If you don't slowly bring the chalice back up the right temp it will lose all it's tissue. This is a very common problem.

Shipping this time of the year is a major problem, specially when you're having the corals deliver to you home and not picking them up at the airport, once they come off the plane. Between the picking up, sitting in a cold airport at night, not to mention traveling at night, then in a cold shipping truck a heating pack will only go so far to keep the water warm. It's probably better to get stuff local until the weather warms up otherwise things like this can and will happen.

I agree!
The chalice was quickly placed back into the same water it was in when I took it out to photograph-it instantly lost all the tissue- it just fell off- nothing left to slowly drip acclimate!
I put all three (and the shipping water), into a large bucket anyway, and have been drip acclimating for the past 2 hours - real slow!

I get a lot of coral online- NEVER had it shipped to me in such a shoddy manner- totally the packers fault!
Till now, all my orders arrived in a cooler- sealed with tape and loaded with heat packs- this box I could see inside of without even opening it!!

Yeah...thats what the web site says BUT......
Chad finally wrote me back and said he does not believe they are dead
and ,I just need to give them more time ( i want some of what he's on).
However- I am NOT happy with the condition they are in AND, I don't want to look at sick corals, missing flesh in my tank!
soooo... looks like I just have to eat it!

Well Chad wrote me back again....
He admits that the corals do look heavily stressed and,
said i should give them a few days to see how they fare.
If they still look bad or I'm not happy at that time, He will then issue me a credit - I will not have to eat it!
Reprieved!

Don't send him the pics you posted here! Although you state the chalice lost all its flesh...it simply looks stressed (other than the skeleton showing) in the photo....same with the acans.
