ok getting ready to set-up new rr tank. i think the drain is 2" and 1 1/2 return. bottom of tank and sump will only be about 2' i have a mag 9.5 for return 1 3/4 flap style check valve. want to know if this pump will be big enough. and if so anyone know where i can get the nylon screws ? on my return pipe covering out over the overflow i would put a elbow so it sprays 2 directions, at a close ratio. for a nice top flow. opinions ? the overflow is a box in the middle. will get pic's to show. ty rick

dont use the check valve u will regret it.. i would also put a ball valve or a gate valve on the overflow and return plumbing so u can have complete control over the overflow and return... 2" sounds pretty big for an overflow(you know a mag 9.5 is about 950gph and a 2" drain is more then 1500 gph......)

who made the tank?

Ahhh....I would agree with forgetting the check valve and going with a ball or gate valve instead. I've read too many horror stories on check valves that failed (in this case, I think reading about the failures beats having one to claim experience with). I do think you're pipe diameters' are off, so can you check again and see what you actually have set up for your overflow (and size of tank).

OK that makes sense. If you have a 2" hole for the drain you probably will fit a 1" bulkhead. The 1 1/2" hole for your return will probably be able to accomadate a 3/4" bulkhead. I'm just taking a guess. Check out www.savko.com and look under bulkheads. They will have a minimum sized hole next to the bulk heads that you select.
