Did you use ls and lr from an established system? I have had two tanks cycle almost immediately when using sand and rock from an established system. My new SH tank was cycled with established LS and brand new rock and cycled in a couple of weeks.

Was there a cycle at all? Did the system ever test positive for ammonia to begin with? If you used cured live rock from the get go then it's doubtful that you would even have a cycle.

It sounds like the rock you got from Deep was probably pretty far along its cycle and quickly cycled your tank. Totally normal. If your Ammonia is 0 and your nitrates are zero after you had a spike you are ready to go.

Just be careful how mich of a bioload you add to the tank as it could cause it to cycle again.

if you wanna really know if your tank is cycled your gonna have to spike up NH3 and find out how quickly the system is handling the high spike. if it coverts fully to no3 quickly then your tank is completely ready.

you make me laugh Jhov,

Dave means add something to the tank to polute it a bit, then check and see how fast the nitrates appear.
