I'm no pro at this, but too many people that may not be up to speed in reef keeping, are giving advise that is NO GOOD ,to people that are just starting the hobby.
How is one to know, who knows what they are talking about, and those who are just posting to get a high score in the posts?

MR is a great place to get infomation, we should keep it that way.

If I'm in the wrong I'm sorry, but I read a lot of threads, and it is getting worse.

The reason is quite simple. Some people successfully keep gsp and now they are experts. Lets not forget the couch scientists. Then there are the D**chebags that just like to rack up post counts. It sucks but what can you do.

I guess reefing really is a trial & error hobby just like everything else.
I don't take it personally when someone I know dispenses bad advice (sure that spider crab is reef safe - LOL)
Also I notice that what works for some people might not work for you, this hobby is like that, I'm not saying I'm an expert and I don't pretend to be by keeping tabs on my post count. However I will double check another reefers advice by going to another forum or a simple Google search.

Is it possible to have like a knowledge rating.. Because I have noticed that a lot of people who are new not only to this board but also to the hobby have a senior member status.....?????"KATHy" i think u said that also. Some people love this hobby like they love money:givebeer: ... But its hard for a newb to say whether they are getting the correct info or not unless they read about reefs every single day and prob. thats not enough.

Because very few know actually what a really good reef tank looks like, forget actually keeping one. So they have no basis/standard for their judgement or advice.

kedd i def. agree with you... ive been watching a few  with there posts and i am  on how bad advice they would give... without even knowing where the head is from there arse, its pretty :sad2:... but thats where some of us who do know and understand a little bit need to step in and correct the issue 1st hand.... thats why more of the people who know what they are doing need to be giving out the info and helping out more.......

You are right Tony, But then how would u know that ur answer is correct, what if their tank is going though some "HARD TIMES" and the person advising forgot to ask those important factors.

when all the information has been collected from the person asking the question then the we iz experts people can answer the question in a best option answer... as stated it is an open forum and everyone can post what they want (sometimes this is unfortunate thing) :lol2: but thats were the big guyz should jump in and help out...
