My skimmer is foaming like crazy. This is a new tank setup and also alot of microbubbles entering the tank. Any idea what I can do to fix this issue? Thanks

Did you add a new filter sock recently?
I made a mistake when I started using my filter sock w/o rinsing it and my skimmer foamed up. My guess soapy residue from the filter?

MY thoughts exactly Rich, i was laughing when i saw so much foam.

Take the airline out and let it run for a bit. Or skim dry until it settles down. Or get a taller cup and collect all that good foam, lol.

you should pray and thank g-d your skimmer in an insump ;)

the mirco bubbles are 100% as of now from that skimmer foaming up your sump ,once that should stop ,your micro bubble should stop too

I added Stress Coat, Bionic, I changed filter sock never new I had to rinse it before I add it. I will replace it tomorrow and rinse it before I add it to my sump. Should I lower the air pump force? Can I use something else besides the filter sock? Are pads better?

You'll need to do a water change to reduce the effect Stress Coat has on a skimmer. The percentage will be dictated by how much you used in what size tank.

I changed and rinsed a new a new filter sock and took the air pump out of the skimmer for a while and it looked like it was improving but that was only for a limited time it is still foaming lol. I guess I will be doing a 50% water change today to see if that will help improve it. Thanks

They're back...I guess 24hrs after a 50% water change the suds are back. I plan on draining my sump and refilling it to see if it solves the suds problem. All I added was salt and Bionic, as of now I have the skimmer off since it is not doing any use for me besides suds and microbubbles in my tank. Is there a need for a skimmer in a FOWLR?
