You should test your levels to see what the cause is, but it is normal for a tank to go through algae blooms for the first 3-6 months or so after it's set up... all part of the process.
Can phosphates be the cause if I'm using RODI water? MY ammonia, nitrates and nitrites are all at execellent levels.

Affirmative... if you haven't tested your phosphate levels, you should... I know everyone is trashing the Salifert test kit lately, but it's better than nothing. At least you can see if there's something going on with your level.

I don't think a second algae bloom is uncommon but you still want to check your paramaters. I just tested the TDS coming out of my RO and it showed a reading of .02. Just goes to show that you have to check everywhere!

honestly something is wrong there.... u shouldnt be coming up with any nitrites and should have a lil nitrates if the tank was cycled correctly... i would bring a sample of your water not to your lfs (cause they are good for nothing :lol2: ) but to a local reefers house who knows what they are doing... recheck ur nitrites, nitrates and make sure they have a hanna meter so u can check ur phosphates as well... what test kits are you using...
