Battling Hair Algae and Cyno

Part of it is getting nitrates and Phosphates under control. Even with very low levels it can be very hard to get rid of hair algae or cyano once it takes control of your tank.

I was battling with HA for a long time. I tried this as the last option and YES it worked. No light for 3 days and now the lights are on. And 95% of HA is gone.

I had positive results too, had to scrub off what is left. You still need to get water condition under control or the HA will comeback. From the post on RC some people go 1 or 2 days a month without lights to keep the HA under control.
