1.Whats the best coral i should start with???
2.Anyone has coral can HOOK ME UP wif couple for cheap price hehehe...

thank you to BOB1000 hook me up wif his NICE 12g nano and the tank has been running for almost a yr by now... thats a good thing, i dont have to go through lots of cyclin and other stuff.... i am planning to have CORAL only inside this tank. the lighting is 48watt well here is the how i set it up... give me comment are welcome..
p.S anyone willing to donate me some coral will be realli THANKful for a starter.....

Perosnally, I prefer live sand for aesthetic reasons. I started in the hobby about 2 years ago. I find the follwing corals easiest: Mushrooms, Ricordias, Zoas & Palys, and Montipora Digitata.

Congrats on your new setup! I attempted to setup a 12g nano with bare bottom as well but eventually went to live sand. In my experience I would make sure you keep the bottom of the tank clean when syphoning the tank for water changes. I would also recommend adding additional current flow in the tank to keep the debris from collecting at the bottom of the tank. I use a tunze 5024.04 and it works great, I have seen them sold online for about $12-15. Its tiny and kicks alot of flow. I can see by the pic that you allready have begun to collect unwanted debris at the bottom of the tank. If you increase your flow enough by adding power heads in the back of the tank towards the bottom, you should be able to combat the buildup of unwanted waste and doc's. (or maybe add some live sand^^) That gunk on the bottom may become a problem for you later on when keeping corals. Otherwise good luck and I hope you enjoy the hobby as much as I do!!:teeth:

Good start, I like your rock pieces. Be careful with the macroalgae you have in there (center bottom rock), while it is not harmful at all, it can grow to plague-like amounts and can be a pain in the a$$ to remove later down the road. Also nothing will consume it so removal will have to be manual.

the nano looks cool. i would add sand. i'm a big fan of sand.

Having a sandbed will also help with filtration.

What are you using in the back for the filter? and any skimmer in the plans or is it just going to be mushrooms and zoa's or maybe a easy LPS or two?

Oh, and there is no BEST starter coral. How much do you know about the hobby? Thats going to determine whats best for your tank.

Take out that caulerpa, its going to take over your tank quick =0) And if you want i got some mushrooms for you.

shorjai just post a WTB thread and your tank will be stocked in no time. did you cycle it already? once cycled you can get mushrooms, zoos, a hammer frag or a frogspawn or both, some leathers, etc.

i am a little confused. You posted a wtb fish tank and now you have this one and you say its been running for a year now. From the looks of the rock it doesnt seem to be running for a year to me. I see previous coraline built up from the previous owner but from your rocks it looks like you just added them not too long ago. Are you sure this set up has been running for a year???

well i just purchased the tank from a member in MR. he say the tank has been running over a yr......all those LR came wif the tank... when i went over to his house to pick up the tank, it was still running so all i did was just move it bak to my HOUSE lolz... DIdnt change the water or add stuff to it..

Hmm seems weird that there is no coraline built up since its been running for a year unleass the lights where not running for a year.

What kind of lights are you running? This will help us determine what type of corals will be best for you.

Have you kept salt before? If so, how long and what?

What are you currently testing for and who makes your test kits? (i.e. salifert, A,P,I, Seachem)

Are you doising anything? (I.E. Strontium, Potassium,)

Use 2 part?
