Some say that it eats zoas. I think Zoaid.com has them under pest. I remove all that I see. Not sure if they do eat zoas, but I don't wanna take any chance.

You should flush only as a last resort only because you paid good money for the variety of life that your tank has. In small closed systems it's hard to have the variety of life that we do on a reef. Each animal is very valuable, both in their function and in the neat bit that they add to your system. The Live rock we buy isn't live do to the bacteria we have on it. It is live due to the life it has on it. I could kick myself for all the neat hitchhikers that I tossed or gave away. Many hitchhikers are not for sale in stores they're available only via the game of roulette that it buying live rock.

I have them in my tank and they really dont bother my zoanthids but i had a healthy xenia that i got from Crox and one day it just started decaying. I noticed the starfish near it and it never crossed my mind that they were capable of doing such a thing since i did some research and found out that they are capable of killing xenia. From now on i am on the lookout for them.
