My CPR overflow keeps on getting air bubbles trapped on the top, eventually causing a complete drain in my sump's return chamber, and making a bubble storm in my tank. Does anybody have a brilliant idea to prevent it? Appreciated.

Get the tank drilled. That's the best way to fix that problem.

larger return pump, the water in the overflow will move faster carrying the bubbles through. As dallas NYC said you can use a small pump to pull the air bubbles out. what some people do is run an airline tube up into the "U" tube of the overflow where the bubbles are and connect that to the venturi on a powerhead.

I ran a life reeef overflow box for five years and not once did I have a problem with it.

I also had a CPR overflow with venturi powerhead connected (they didn't have the Aqualifter pump out at the time) and replaced it with 2 Amiracle overflow boxes. It looks like the same design as the Lifereef boxes. It hasn't failed me in the 3 years since I switched. I think the Amiracle's are also half the price of the Lifereef's.
