did the clam look like that when it was at the store?

what are the alk and calcium reading in the tank, did you get the test kits?

clams need light and stable water conditions, that's about it. some clams are tough to keep though and require you be at the top of your reef game, maxima's are a tough clam to keep alive for a long period of time.

why don't you spend your next $25 on a book instead of something to kill?

seriously, no need to get out of the hobbie (sic). my first clam died. then I did lots of research and waited till my tank was stable. Now I've had my two maximas for over 3 years. And they're growing.

Okay now I have to step in here...I would never sell anyone a bad anything...So to say that I guess Bob1000 sold you a bad anything is bad trying to throw dirt on my name...I think if your going to post a can you help me thread you need to be open with the people your asking for help....

You told me yourself Zuska that you dosed something into your tank and caused a big cloudy mess when you came back to my place to buy more corals....Now it's " I guess Bob1000 sold me a bad clam".... I've given clams to a lot of people...Even Daceman has a couple of my clams....

I don't like when a person stabs me in the back like that....I looked at a couple of your clam help threads and You seem to be having trouble withkeeping these creatures....
So why don't you just take the advice of fellow reefers and get your water straight before adding anything...Even though you put me out there like that I still will offer help because that's me but do'nt come to my place or call me...That's some messed up :shhh: you just did....Don't pass the buck, live up to your mistakes and tell the whole truth not just a piece.. If you really think in your heart that I gave you a bad clam I'll give you the $20 back..

another Zuska thread.....
deadhorse.gif

Tired of more "Help Somethings Dying in my tank and i dunno why!" threads by Zuska. Starting a thread and waiting for one person to say maybe its ok after 30 people saying no don;t do it yet does not mean its ok.

You haven't listened to anyones advice from the start Zuska, why start a new thread on asking for more if your not gonna listen anyway?

Sorry. Its the same post but in different words. Your clams going to die most likely if it hasn't already.

I didnt buy a clam but I bought a skimmer from Bob 1000, he is passionate about his tank and his responsibilities that come with maintaining his tank!! We chopped it up for a minute, he's a GOOD DUDE! I agree with Dace about him being a stand up guy!
Bob's character shouldnt be the issue here!

I saw the clam that is in question about 3 weeks ago and it wasn't fully open. It was alive but didn't look good and unless it changed it probably shouldn't have been sold, unless the person getting it had experience in keeping clams and a good stable tank. More important it shouldn't have been brought by someone without experience in keeping clams.

I'm not sure if the clam was being picked on or if is was something else but it did last at least 2 weeks after I saw it, which it there was something wrong with the clam it should have died much sooner.

Zuska, as already posted you need to read up more on clams, how to keep them and there requirements and more important what to look for when you're buying a clam. That clam probably wasn't a good clam for you to buy, especially since you had problems trying to keep them in the past.
