i got it from bob 1000 i didnt know if it was healthy or not... i guess we just sold me a bad clam
i know all the coral he sold me are doing really good in my tank like really good or healthy corals! but the clam wasnt doing good from the beggining and it died
yo you guys made such a big ass deal out of everything here. Leave Bob out of this! I just said who i purchased it from!

Mike,

Why would you come on here and smear bob's name and then say someone else is bothering him. Why do you blame someone else when you start getting blasted for doing illogical and/or irresponsible things. When you were getting blasted about that disaster setup a few months back you mentioned my name even though I had never met you in person. And you slammed Cali_reef when you backed out of deal. WTF?

I saw the clam that is in question about 3 weeks ago and it wasn't fully open. It was alive but didn't look good and unless it changed it probably shouldn't have been sold, unless the person getting it had experience in keeping clams and a good stable tank.

Why is it bob's responsibility to make sure zuska's setup is straight? Do you even know if bob has even seen zuskas setup? where did you see the clam? This statement makes absolutely no sense to me.

I saw the clam at Bob apartment about 3 weeks ago. We actually talked about the clam, as it wasn't doing very well.

Paul, considering the condition that the clam was in, Bob shouldn't have sold it to someone that couldn't take care of it. He should have asked if they had experience and the correct setup, especially since the clam wasn't doing well. I also said that if a person didn't have experience with Clams, then they shouldn't have brought this clam.

As for people selling things on this board, well you shouldn't just sell things to people without knowing if they can take care of it. It's just completely wrong.

Zuska,

I find it amusing that you always ask for threads to be closed when they aren't going your way.

Reality check #1: your negligence is killing living things. Maybe it doesn't matter to you, but it matters to other people on the boards, and eventually your posting all of these "mi livstock is al ded" threads is going to cause others to become angry and irritated with you;

Reality check #2: posting that the person who sold you the clam sold you a "bad clam" will set into motion a chain of events wherein others defend the person that you are accusing. Because of your poor track record with most living things, you will lose this he-said-she-said battle.

Reality check #3: the advice that you've been given from the start is to read, read, read, rather than kill, kill, kill. Continuing to post will only elicit more of the advice that you've been given since you joined these board;

Reality check #4: no one wants to hear any more from you until you read a book. So I suggest you do it.

I can respect this is your opinion. You obviously got a bit of work ahead of you since you have decided to voice your opinions. I'm also interested in understanding how you expect someone to know when a person is able to care for livestock without getting to know them first. And whether you have made use of these practices in the past. For example, has anyone you've sold to lost one of your corals?

If you are truly looking to move forward with your ideas wouldn't the upcoming frag swap be an ideal situation for you to put them into action. I look forward to seeing how you will integrate your "know the buyer" into swap selling.

I'm not sure what work I have ahead of me? If someone on this board decides to sell things to people, who have no experience or not the proper equipment to keep the coral alive, then they're no better than a guy at a LFS selling what they have in their tanks, regardless if it will makes it or not. You also see quite a # of people here put out requirements before they sell their corals. Some even to the point where they wouldn't sell to a person unless their tank and equipment meet certain requirements. This is something you also see from the vendors here too, though it could probably be better. People here need to take responsibility not only when buying things but also when selling things, and anyone having a problem with that just shows they have no respect for living things and it's all about money, what they can sell and what they can buy.

It doesn't take much to ask the person buying what's in the their tanks, how long the tank has been running, equipment they have and past experiences keeping the item that they're going to buy. Not only could the person then decide if they should sell the coral but they maybe able to give the person advise on what to do or help correct problems that they person maybe having.

As for voicing my opinions, well that's is something I can do as can other people here. As for selling things, whether livestock or equipment, I have and do let people know if they should buy something or not. I have not sold things to people because I didn't think that they were ready for that participle coral or fish or their setup wasn't good enough. I've probably talked more people out of buying things, even from me, then things I've sold, and I'm not the only one of this board who has done this.

As for the frag swap, well the people selling should be asking for tank requirement before selling their live stock. That's the least anyone here can expect, not only from the vendors but anyone selling. Considering this is a board, where advise is giving out, anything less would be unacceptable.

I think this thread should be closed because it's not becoming an informative thread anymore and it's just going to start some serious $hit. :biggrin:

David the Schtuff was started long ago. Thread closed. So bob is a good guy, we are all ........ Something don't know what but we're something. and the clam didn't look too good, oh and research needs to be done before people buy livestock so that they know what to provide, how to care for and how not to kill it. Move along...there's nothing to see here you have the wrong number this is ummmmmmmmmm 91.......2
