Yes, but not for long :(

Bivalve Mollusk Compatibility

Excerpt: Despite it's hardiness, your little neck is doomed to die. The first problem is that little necks are temperate. The second is that they require large amounts of micro (probably phyto) planktonic food. The only real danger is the pollution that the rotting animal will cause. You can avert that danger by removing the clam. It will make great fish food!

is the clam alive or are the zoa's just attached to a shell?

if the clams alive would that not mean it came from where the zoas did :scratchch

my point is if the zoas grew on the clam, the clam is used to the same water the zoas are, and will be ok in your tank.

I can't think of any reason why someone would glue zoas to a live mussel.

I have one in my tank for about 7+ months already, opens and closes all the time, so I know it's alive. No special feedings, just what's thrown in for the fish and inverts.

Filter feeder, won't require anything heroic as far as light. There is always a chance these little guys can die off and pollute the tank, but that can be said for any live organism in any aquarium I suppose and if we were all that worried about something possibly polluting our aquariums we'd probably have clear glass boxes with nothing but water in them, hehe.

My past experience with them has been a positive one. They don't do much for me visually, and I agree it's weird to be shipped zoanthids that are attached to them but at the same time part of me wants to say "cool" hehe.

I've had this smiling clam in my 33 cube for over 6 months now. I don't know if the shrooms grew on him naturally or someone glued them on there but he's as happy ...as a clam! :)

Hmm I second the clam burial thing, it it decides to move and bury istelf as clams of that sort do those zoas will be in trouble. It it dies your clean up crabs and shrimp will be happy, just don't feed the tank for a few days...
