What is this hitchiker

I will say this first. That i do not have any pics right now. Camera is with the wife, and not home. I am going to describe it.

On a mushroom rock that I have, there is a dark red growth. It is very thin maybe thickness of construction paper. It is layered. Not sure how else to describe it.

I will get a pic tonight or tomorrow to post. lets see who is good enough to ID without a pic. :wink1:

Coraline can plate? it is not a worm or anything alive like that. I have to get my camera working... Wife killed the battery, have to charge.
