I have this Green Bubble tip Anemone that just housed itself on the front glass panel of the aquarium. is it safe for it to just house itself on glass instead of some rock work? :scratchchI figure there isnt a good way to just pluck it off and place it on the bottom of the tank without damaging it.
It looks like one giant piece of silicon. :kidding:

Any suggestions?

Yes, it's safe for the anemone.

thanks. I was getting abit worried since im use to anemones on the sand bed or the rocks. Kinda weird it prefers the glass. Im trying to get my maroon clown to house it.
I just hope it doesnt stay on the glass for a long time. Looks funky.

its safe if you don't have any powerheads on your glass. FWIW, it is pretty easy to remove an anemone from the glass w/out damaging the foot.

They have a mind of their own and will go anywhere they like. I had Anemone that I kept moving off the front glass and it just kept going back to the same spot. Like WES stated, watch out for powerheads. I like using bubbles from a airline tube and air pump to remove the Anemone without any damages. There are other safe techniques that works as well.

My GBTA's never moved but multiplied like crazy. To get them off the rock, I put another rock with a nice hole or crevice next to the existing rock. The GBTA always moved right onto the new rock - probably to get better lighting. I would then remove the new rock w/the anemone. Try putting rocks up to the glass & maybe the GBTA will move onto the rockpile and you can place it exactly where you want it.. Be careful with the front glass.

In addition to this, you can create a moving shadow over it to speed it up in some cases. I found sometimes they are very sensitive to shadows. I can easily induce one of my green carpet to move from one side of the rock to the other by just creating shadow over it couple times like waving your hands slowly for a minute.
