I got a 125gl tank from a friend of mine. I built the tank in the wall after everything was almost complete I noticed a hair line crack. The crack is on the front panel on the lower right about 1" up from bottom. This crack is about .125 long you can't feel with your finger on the inside or outside and doesn't go completely thru. The glass is .375 thick and the crack looks less than .125 deep probaly half that. I really can't tell if the crack is on the inside or outside. I wanted to see if anyone had this problem and if it will it leak or crack? I didn't fill yet so I was wondering if I should use this tank get a new one or do a test run with fresh water before switching over my fowlr tank?

I'm not sure what I'll do, but I will start looking for a 125 RR. If anybody knows of one let me know. Here is a pic of what it looked like.

If what you see is a crack, you can safely dispose that tank for ANY water application.

A crack in glass or acrylics will results in larger cracks sooner or latter when there is stress-it's the crystaline structure of them. You can not help unless you glue another big piece over it but I guess this is your front glass right. Oops.

I can't feel anything on the outside or inside, so what would cause a crack like this? You don't even see it. I only found it because I was looking up close to see how many scratches were in the glass and the light sparkled in the area.

Might have tapped it on a door frame or something while moving it.
