Curing Marco Rocks. They Stink!

Ok. I have a small condo, and I'm curing these rocks in my apartment and it's stinking the whole place up. Not something I look fwd to after a long day of work. :skull:

Any tips on where to put this thing or hide the smell? I have a balcony, but I'm hesitant to put it out there because it's been cold out. And I doubt putting extra heaters in the water is going to help. I also have a phosban running, so that would probably freeze too.

Any clever ideas?

yes, use a lid for the container they're in

That's tough, I have a phosban running, and also a skimmer... so the lid is doesn't help much since these items stick out of the container.

run your skimmer on the wet side, add some sort of carbon filtration

When I did mine right at the beginning I got rid of the stink water and put in new the smell went somewhat away. After that I had no smell well not as bad I was able to be right near them and it wasn't bad. Now the rock is in the tank and well gets more color every day they arejust beautiful.

I might think about doing that... and extra water changes!

Run some carbon in there it should help a lot.

I can do that... but How quickly will the carbon be exhausted?

id say pretty quickly with all the crap thats in the rocks. i would change it out in a week at latest...
