hi guys i have a ? where does bubble algea come from? ive seen some on my rocks and some have been on my corals . ive read that i should be very careful not to pop them in my tank cuz it can spread. so my ? is how can i eliminate them and how to stop them from spreading. thank u:biggrin:

You probably got it from a frag you bought. Yeah don't pop them. The come off pretty easy. Alot of people claim emerald crabs get rid of them. I had a few and just picked them out. Haven't seen any since

make sure u dont pop them when u pluck them out coz thats where all the spores are! and emerald crabs only eat the small ones i think

I had plenty in my tank so I got 4 emeralds and I did not see any results.then I got a Naso tang and I saw nothing. resently I looked at my tank and noticed that after not seeing any emeralds for about 4 months there was one picking and eating the bubble algae. then I also saw that the Naso was also doing the same. at present there are few if any bubbles in the tank.
Basically you have to wait it out and see who does the job.you can also pick them out but do you have the time and patience to pick out every bubble.
