get a big A$$ UV then and watch the HA melt away, at least let's hope it does.

Possible a sea hare too for the hair algae thing, and the 40 watt UV on a cycle, perhaps 1week on/3 weeks off. to give the best of both worlds

Hair algae? I've been running a coralife twist 9w in my 72g bow front for 3 years and im still fighting with this hair algae. My tank measurements are normal (nitrate <15). I brought a phosban reactor last week and im still waiting to see a difference. Could it be possible that the 9w is too small for my tank?
(bulbs changed every 6 months, feed 2 to 3 times a week, 25% bi-weekly water change using Kold Steril II system, in case anyone was going to ask)
