Slama's Piece O' Cube Reef....

Finally! I received my low iron glass so that I can finally start this cube build...Im hoping that this is my last tank, its a good apartment size and not bad with electric. It will eventually have a luminarc pendant with a 250w MH with 2 24" T5 actinic (which will be posted as build progresses)

Tank dimensions are 24"W x 24"L x 20"H = 50G

Looks Good So Far, Your Using A External Overflow ? Is It Glass Or Acrylic ?

yes its external, its acrylic and it solved a couple problems (not to mention i had it lying around) lol
ive been puttering around it this morning need to do some clean up and glue the drain pipes, bracings and put in my penductor returns today

Aren't you worried about the silicon from the glass to the plastic? Isn't that prone to failure?

ive drilled tanks b4 steve, and that part was easy, but to keep silicone from going whr u dont want it is a *****, i bought a $3 bead tool that worked great, but went thru lots of paper towels keeping everything as clean as i could...

im not sure how much water volume i will need to balance with return and skimmer, so i put both to drain into 1 and a gate valve on 1 side to regulate...i can shut it off completely or adjust as ness...its 1" drains into a 2" so i shouldnt have any restricted water flow
