Anyone use a float valve to keep evaporation under control? I am usint the Kent float valve connected to a 5 Gallon bucket od RO/DI water, but it's not working well. Water level going up in sump. Valve must be bad...

how's it hook up? any pics? do u add anything in the ro? is the valve new? float valve is a pretty simple device. i'm still using 1 from 5 yrs ago. i even brought a new 1 but didnt need to change it.

I'm doing the same thing. I'm using the float valve from Air water ice. I set it up earlier this week and it seems to work fine. The only thing I noticed was that the valve shut off about 1 inch higher than I thought it would. I have a 5 gal bucket sitting above the tank and it has been stable for 4 days now.

one more thing. you can test the valve by blowing on the line. if the valve is open you will be able to blow through. When the valve is closed you will not be able to blow through.

I will post some pictures tonight. I got it working.

Under presure (when the valve was closed) it would drip from the connection fitting once every few seconds. After 8 to 10 hours, it would increase the volume in the sump. Hard to find but it looks like it's good to go now...
