Halides EMERGENCY!!

Hi guys, I came home today and found that my Sunpod " Current" fixture has a burnt bulb, tried changing it but unfortunately the fixture cap rusted, long story short I have one side of the tank in darkness and I have a lot of corals in there.

I'm wondering if any of the fellow reefers in NY would be so kind and lend me clip on halide fixture or a 48" halide fixture for a couple of days until I receive a replacement from " Current", or ordering a new one. It'll be greatly appreciated. I'm freaking out and don't want to kill my corals, here's a picture of my tank.

Don't worry too much a few days without light won't harm the tank. People turn their lights out for 3 days to help battle cyanobacteria. The other light still works, so the corals will still be getting light, just not as intensely.

I agree a few days wont harm anything, if one bulbs still working you could just rotate the working bulb; one day left side one day right.

Thanks Kris and Joe, I'm just not sure how many days it'll be before I get a new fixture which is making me worried, it's still under warrenty with " Current" but they might have a process to get the replacement.

Hopefully, you will have an answer from them in the morning. If it looks to be an extended period then I'm sure we can help you out.
The plan of rotating the light should work out fine for a while.

Thanks Kathy! Current said that I should be able to order one from the store I bought it from, I should know by tomorrow afternoon if the store can get it. If not, I might have to do the paper work and get it directly from current, they ship it ground though, and they're all the way in California, so that's what's making me worried.

the store you bought it from should take care of it they just have to call and fax over a form ,it just depends on what day the store gets the delivery

Ok, the LFS said that they wouldn't have the new fixture until Tuesday, that's if everything goes smoothly.
That would be 6 days with the defective fixture. I'd really appreciate if someone lends me a halide fixture for a few days, thank you guys!

Thanks Emmanuel for offering the socket but I'm looking for a fixture ... I don't want to mess up the fixture trying to pull it apart, since I'll have to return it to the manufacturer on Monday.
Anyone else might have a halide fixture? please?

I dont think anyone will be having an extra MH fixture, but if you try for a T5 I guess you may be able to find one. But I think your corals will be fine with the current setup till you get a replacement from the company.

It may not be worth the trouble for you to get a temp. replacement. Do what a couple members said and just switch the bulb from side to side each day. The corals will be more than fine by doing this and its simple.
