I currently have a 24gal aquapod but have thinking about upgrading to a 34gal solana. The solana is 20"x20" Problem is my stand is 21"x18-1/4"

If I put the solana on my stand it would hang off the back 1-3/4". Do you think this could damage the tank and cause a disaster?

Rich the solana stand is so nice I would just buy it.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I like mine better :) I hate low stands. The solana stand is higher than the average stand but still not at eye level unless you're 5' tall.

This is what my stand looks like. I think the top platform is glued on. I can probably pry it off and change for a larger piece. DO you guys really think it's necessary though? Is the 1-3/4" going to compromise the integrity of the tank?

I would not trust it with the hangover that's alot of area to be hanging out in the air IMO if you know what I mean. I would do like the others are saying and get a piece of plywood and finish it then out it on your current stand.

You could also just take 2 2x4 cut to height stain and use them as posts in the back, youll nevr see them. but if someone is going to make u something for free,, /thats a good price

You know I have left peices of MDF outside, it swelled but I havnt seen it flake but its not weight bearing either. If Rich were to put some poly on it I dont think it would be too bad. I was just offering. Honestly what ever wood is used will be a problem in the long run anyway.

True. Unless you use Marine plywood covered with fiberglass...:)

Maybe cover with formica... will repell the water...

Thanks for the suggestions guys. What do you guys think about getting a granite top that is 20x20? The condominium complex that I live in is still in construction. I maybe able to get a piece of scrap pretty cheap or trade for beer:)
I think a color like this might look cool.
