Thank you! Good luck on fasting...I could never handle it. My son called me the other day and asked me how religious I was feeling....We're now on Long Island and we're about to davin on the Sound for bluefish! Did it on Rosh Hashanah...got bluefish up to 10.5 lbs, and a flat-claw hermit for my local tank....so I guess someone up there approves............

Just had my bagels with creamcheese and lox. After 12 hours in shul, that is a nice way to break a fast. Shanah tovah to everyone.

Thanks guys. New Year was last week (Rosh Hashanah). This was Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement). This is the day that we ask for forgiveness for our prior year sins. It's a solemn day where Rosh Hashanah is a happy, celebratory holiday.

Thanks again,
Russ

Sorry Russ I have a hard enough time keeping track of the christian holidays let alone other religious holidays of other faiths LOL

I hope your day was peaceful and forgiveness was achieved.

Well, the only way to get forgiveness for your sins is to sin...............My son and I did our own personal shul thing at Truman's Beach and McCabes Beach in Southold...I fasted.......until 11:30. I guess that G-d must not disagree....my son and I caught a lot of blues up to 7 lbs...saw some guys snorkeling for hermits....interesting way to get them. (They were for blackfish bait.....)

Yom Kippur is also a very happy day, very serious and solemn, but happy.

Au contrare, it's even happier. Think about it like this. Your wife comes home, after finding out at the ATM that the bank account is empty, the kids waiting two hours for you after school, and now a hooker is sneaking out the door while you're passed out drunk, wearing leather underwear and pink lipstick.

Now imagine the day she takes you back home.

More importantly, Russ, did you enjoy your bagels with lox and cream cheese as much as I did?

You bet I did. Enjoyed my gefilte fish too. Not sure what family the gefilte is in, but I enjoy eating it ;)
