Finally, our government is doing something I like in how it handles the financial crisis: Buy stocks not loans. Look at this statement by Paulson : "The needs of our economy require that our financial institutions not take this new capital to hoard it, but to deploy it," meaning that they will use the money to bolster lending to each other and to their customers. Did I say that loan to the big guys would not work before? And, did I say that the private sector(vulture investors) is not loosing confidence in the economy but wait and watch the best chance to gain every penny out of this crisis. LOL It took 2 weeks for the government to realize something so common sense or forced to admit they have to change policies. LOL

So sad, I did not get back the penny I sent(by the government) to help AIG and some of his workers who continue to luxuriously spending the dimes of the dying company.

Once again, this new policy also have to be implemented properly or else it is going to be a joke too.

Yeah I agree that buy shares of bank's would be a great idea especially since the values of the banks are so low right now. It's almost guaranteed to be a money maker. On that note I really should have bought Morgan Stanley stocks over the weekend, anyone see the doubling of their price on Monday?

Wingo, even though they are non voting shares, how do you regulate something you own?

that's what I mean by proper implementation is needed or else the new move is going to be a joke too-something I can brag about during dinners. LOL. Many other countries took preferred and voting stocks. I wonder the wisdom and theory behind our government's action of not doing the same. Even in the Goldman Sach case, the stocks are preferred stocks for the private investor, why not People Of The United States. Guess, "God Bless America" but financial giants don't bless America.
