and there are several good ones.

Not voting is totally a statement. And i don't like any of the third party candidates either.

I think not voting would be a statement if it hurt the candidates in some way.

As our process stands, it leaves the way open for any disagreeable policies for either candidate to be put in place.

Does anyone know what can be done if you dislike all candidates other than not voting?

what if every candidate has disagreeable policies? Are you allowed to complain about the person in office if you helped vote him in? The whole "You can't complain if you don't vote" thing is just silly.

Not sure what to do other than not voting or writing in "Mickey Mouse".

I'm voting for Obama because in the Rolling Stone interview he was effortlessly, seamlessly and accurately able to name in order the seminal recordings of Stevie Wonder. In my mind, this demonstrated a superior intelligence, judgment, and grace under pressure that I have not seen from any other candidate. And yes these seminal recordings are anthologized in the 1982 release of Stevie Wonder's Musiquarium.

I've been notably absent from MR for the last six months primarily because the election has taken over my life. I look forward to returning back to my normal self in a couple of weeks.

Don, I dont think there is early voting in NY, I know Florida started yesterday.

Are we talking politics, freshwater dipping or marine ich. I can't tell but it usually always ends up in swordfighting anyway.

I never get involved with political or religious debates (sometimes both) Most people are set in their ways on these topics. You can't reason with fanatics.
I feel this way with skimmerless and "natural" filtration guys when the results for big skimmers and chemical media are so evident. Refugiums RULE!!!!!!............Not quite

I disagree. Tucker Carlson makes a living discussing politics and he abstained from the 2004 election. He says choosing the "lesser of two evils" is foolish. We should vote for someone we truly believe deserves the job.

James Dobson has already stated he will not be voting in this election because he is a Republican but does not like the McCain/Palin ticket.

Some people choose not to vote, and that is their right.

Wes, I agree, we as American citizens have a right to choose and sometimes the choice is to not choose. I do believe third-party canidates should be looked at prior to waiving your right to vote but I am not going bash someone for choosing not to place a ballot.

I understand and respect the ownership of the site but this thread should have never even had started, asking people to freely expose their political affiliations might have repercusions now and in the long run for example John Doe Reefer just voted for the republican party in this poll and next week he has an emergency and needs help from his fellow reefers here and a very helpful few others saw that he voted for the other party. Some people will not waste their time to help this person that has other beliefs and that is a small example there are countless other scenarios. Overall the members of this site are very responsible and respectful and the rules are not being broken but they sure are being tested.
