I know that whenever we have people over, they are always right in front of the tank. Asking this or that.

What is the funniest expression or statement you have heard from someone while they were viewing your aquarium?

One of ours...

OMG that poor fish is paralized it can't swim. (A friend of mine speaking about the Margin Wrasse, if you've ever seen one swim they don't really swim but flutter) She still to this day swears the fish is defective and we are lying to her so she won't get upset.

What are yours? .........

I had an old family friend over and asked where they sold those really nice plastic coral. "they look so real. wow"

Mind you this is a 50 yr old guy that used to be heavily into FW local big fish tanks in poland and had a few friends with FOWLR SW tanks maybe 20-30 years ago.

My Mother in law and sister in law had seen my clowns host my giant mushroom a thousand times and they are so stupid they keep asking why. I explain it and then an hour later they ask again. I am going to give them a book.

I would explain to them that I have a saltwater reef. They would then ask: "Is that only saltwater fish then?" Yes. "And those?" Those are corals. "Are they saltwater too?" Yes. "Oh."

;)

My Mother in law always asks if her fish ( an Oranda ) could go in my tank with my fish. That's what I am dealing with here.

here's a good one,
"what do you mean by live rock does it breath underwater ?"

my reply "no every week or so I have to bring it out of the water, you know like a whale or dolphin. "

their answer " really? wow nature is so amazing."

then I had to let them off the hook, " no, not really"

Wow, this is...magnificent...and look at these colorful plants...oh they're not plants but corals...wow...like those used for coral jewelery....amazing, are they plastic...what do you mean alive?!?
I have two Enomopletapus debelius lobsters so people ask...:tired:

You have a lobster...two purple doted lobsters...wow they're beautiful...does it take long for them to grow for eating

When I tell people that it's as salt water reef tank....

What...a salt water tank...wow...no kidding... so you pick you kitchen salt, mix it with tap water and that's it...amazing....nooo...what...special aquarium salt...
Cheers

Everytime I took my parents to an LFS with me, my mom wanted to purchase a fish for my fish tank until she would see the prices and then she'd want to put a betta in it and cannot understand why not even though I keep explaining the difference between "sweet water(FW) & salt water tanks". Yes, she calls fw sweet water.lol

And this is her favorite betta.;)
