First I want you to know that i am not affiliated with Ice Cap in any way shape or form. I wanted to let you guys know that in this hobby I've tried lots of light setups and i have found the best one ever.
I am using Ice Cap 400w 20k DE Bulbs With Ice Cap Pendents and Ice Cap ballast And i truly love the look of these bulbs. The 20k's are even whiter then my old 12k bulbs. The color of the corals are just eye popping and the tank still has a nice white look instead of that blue water look.
Just want to thank Ice cap for putting together the best light's Ive used yet.

I have Ice Cap pendants and Ice Cap 250W ballasts, but no tank set up at the moment.

I'll have to try these out when I set up again. Let us know as the bulbs burn in if you see a difference in color.

thanks Dave :) Good info to have.

Thanks Dave !!! Good to know in the event of a possible upgrade in the future but you do know someone will eventually ask you for a photo comparison. Is that possible? You live to WAY TO FAR for me to see it in person:lol2:

To me it's impossible for someone with my photographer experience to bring out the best in both bulbs to compare. It's something you would have to see in person.

it's hard if not impossible to get accurate pics of light temps.
what our eye sees and what the camera sees are very different.
And when you want to see the subtle nuances between 20K bulbs, well
that is asking too much. Using Sanjays lighting guide would help, you could compare the spectrums to a bulb your familiar with. That is if Sanjay has tested the icecap bulbs

I was using the the coralvue 20K on a coralvue 400 watt DE pendent and it also came out very white, I could only imagine what the 10k's look like
