best place for clean up crew???

I was going to order from Reefcleaners until I called and spoke to them over the phone. I asked him since they charge $30 for overnight shipping. would it ship the day I was going to order it and be here for the next day? He basically told me that they were very busy filling other orders and my order would be out on the back burner and ship out "in a few days"...I told him thats not the service I was paying for "next day $30 service" and he said "Well, I can get it out as soon as possible"/ That did not make me feel too comfortable not knowing when it would ship, but Im still paying the next day air fee.... He wasnt to nice over the phone either, kind of like whatever.
A couple of days later I contacted saltwater critters (Master swimmer, and house of laughter) JIm and RUss and they were more than helpful, reached out to me with information, had great prices on the snails/ crabs, great shipping prices (even next day was less than $15 through them) and kept me updated. I felt saltwater critters had great customer service. They even sent me a few extras at no cost. If I remember the turbos and Nassarius were $1.00 each.

You should check out Reeftopia. Quick cheap, and has free fedex priority overnight shipping with any decent sized order.
I don't think he is pocketing the $30... Overnight shipping isn't cheap.

The guys at Saltwater Critters are great and very personable! I will be ordering from them next time I get the need.

I'm not sure if that was directed at me, but I never said he was pocketing the $30..my question was, why would you charge $30 for next day "Priority" and then make me wait 3- 5 days to ship it. Bascially Im paying you for something I am not getting. I can order $20 in snails etc. They charge $30 to ship priority next day so they arrive alive, but it wont ship until 5 days later....??? Am I missing something here? I know they are busy, but if I order snails today for next day shipping I expect them to arrive tomorrow. I mean, that is what we pay the extra $$ for. I just wanted to explain why I did not use them, I had a much better/ easier/ more comfortable experience with House of Fish. If you are in florida, it makes more sense I guess since the shipping is local. For me in NY priority through USPS was next day so it worked out for me.
maybe he doesn't get the shipment of snails and such in till fridays.. so he can't ship them out till monday.. i don't see why its such a big deal. you pay for the overnight fees to make sure they don't die off.. a lot of places that ship livestock will only ship certain days of the week.

The reason you pay for overnight shipping is cause that's what it costs and the livestock can't stay in a bag longer than that 12 hour period . The reason they only ship on those days is probably so they don'thave to go to the post office every day imagine if parking in their area is anything like NYC or even gas prices or paying an employee how much money can they possibly make of a $150 clean up crew I assume they have to cut their costs as much as possible.
They will also ship for Saturday delivery. I ordered a package from John not too long ago and I had a emergency and sent him a quick e-mail to hold off mailing my package to the next day. No problems changing shipping dates or anything. They are very helpful guys down there, I think you may be making a mountain out of a mole hill.

overnight shipping is 30 bucks not cheap.... but they are not in nyc (think they are in florida)so it kinda does make sense. and with the guys i dont think anyone offers a more diverse variety of clean up crew and macro algae. and detailed descriptions of everything they sell

overnight doesnt mean it ships same day or next, its means you will recieve it the next day after it is shipped.
HMMM I just placed an order with a few other MR members from John and we got free shipping(spending over a certain amount) and discount for being a MR member
If you want ask around maybe start up a group buy works out for everone
personally I am VERY happy with what I recieved and would recommend his inverts/cleanup crews to anyone that needs one
