Fenceing is an easy solution but why should he have to put up a fence to accomidate someone not respecting someone elses personal property. Honestly Regal, I would kindly say something again to the neighbor, then try the powder and then when all else fails start shooting the dog with the garden house. If the police come if their is a complaint I think you will be ok because they are technically trepassing on your property and you have a right to defend it. Maybe a NRPD officer can chime in if their is any.

The nice signs don't work though you could put up a sign that states that your lawn has been treated with chemicals that are toxic to animals. Or something of that nature. If they actually did read the sign and you had words with them.. I think they'd take it seriously enough to skip your lawn and let them piss on your neighbors instead.

Calling the authorities is a waste of their time and your time. You got your point across and he left a steaming turd for his thoughts about the conversation. I would leave it at that unless they do it again. At that point I would ring their bell and have a polite but assertive discussion with them.
Madness :D You're a lucky man!

Because something like this could cause even worse problems for him and his neighbor.
then try the powder and then when all else fails start shooting the dog with the garden house.

He could get charged with animal cruelty if he gets caught doing so.

Doyou have a sprinkler system?
Whenever the dog and person pass by, turn the switch on the soak them.
Other than that, speak with authorities as you already spoke to the people without success.

If the dog is on my property and I have given the owner fair warning, how can this be animal cruelty? My back yard is already fenced in. As far as fencing the front yard, it will look awkward.

Because you are doing so with intent, and you have had words with your neighbors. So making a case against you for harming the dog out of malice and pre-planning this (your doing so in a public forum) would make the case pretty strong. And America hates dog abusers, as you can see with Micheal Vick.

Kill, I recently saw an episode of Judge Judy where a neighbors dog wandered on a mans property (Begal mix) This man shot and killed the dog and judge dutie did nothing for the dog owner. The shooters reason was he feared for his life from the vicious dog......a 30lb begal.

Judge judy is an arbitrator, not a real legal judge. It's unfortunate that the dogs owner wanted to be on TV instead of actually going to a real court.

Plus this is your neighbor you're talking about here, Do you really want to make a situation worse than it already is? I mean they do know where you live.

If you really want to get back at them for the yellow spots on your lawn, you might as well go all out and salt their lawn. At least with that you could go in the cover of night and have plausable deniability. And a jury would be more in your favor.

I'm no PETA freak, but I really love dogs.
Doesn't the first XX feet of land on your property belong to the government or something like that? (the curb and side walk?)

In their defense; If it were me (and you DIDN'T tell me first), I would also assume a baggy is appeasing to the sign's request. I would try a stronger sign..

Another option could be a motion activated sprinkler. I know Koi pond guys use them to deter varmints.

Don't blame the dog, blame the owner. My dog let's me know when she needs to "go", and I tell her when it's time. A good owner can control their dog :dog1:

The best course of action is to video tape the dog on your property and then take the tape to the animal control officer with a complaint or you can contact the ASPCA and report your neighbors for animal cruelty for leaving the dog outside unsupervised and without a leash creating a potential danger for the animal or you can go to civil court and sue your neighbor.

This actually sounds like the best and most reasonable option. That or building a nice fence.
