Inauguration Photo Essay

Jon I can appreciate your appreciation for all the photos taken at the inauguration, sorry if my lack of enthusiasm pooped on your thread, we are friends and I have a great deal of respect for you.
the one thing that really disappoints me though about the photo essay is the lack of photos from the the salute to heroes inaugural ball.
Think about how much better the photo essay would have been with a picture of the Commander in chief standing and celebrating his inauguration with the very men and women who's sacrifice, bravery and dedication, which makes this very nation what it is today!!
The Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball was begun in 1953 for President Dwight
Eisenhower's inauguration. The event recognized recipients of the Medal of
Honor, the nation's highest military award. There were 48 Medal of Honor
recipients in attendance, who were undoubtedly disappointed by the
Commander-in-Chief's failure to show. Over the past 56 years and 14
inaugurations, no
President has skipped this event - until now

Jonathan just found a site online that he wanted to share, he did not make any political statement or give any opinion to his political beliefs. Granted we see that you are sore for the nations choice but you seem to be the only one who continues to bring this thread down, if you respect jonathan like you say please leave your opinions off a thread that is intended solely to display pictures that he wanted to share. This was not started as a political thread and I am sure Jonathan, your friend, who you respect, would like to keep it that way.
If you are upset that Obama was not at the Inaugural Ball when the medals were given out, then you are more than welcome to start a thread discussing that but as I am aware, there are not allowed to be any political threads on MR.
As a friend, and after seeing so many people change the theme of this thread to get away from comments such as yours, I would be embarrassed to have brought it back to this topic.

Dont get me wrong. I enjoyed the pics, but if this was not a political thread. The pics would have been of cats and dogs or something. NO?

Personally, I think the fact that people had negative emotions due to the underlying reason/event that the pictures had to do with and verbally expressed them made this thread political.

Age of man when his wife died = 30 + 25 = 55 years
