for the cat experts, do cats get colds?
my 3 year old cat was sneezing this morning and is still sneezing tonight.
it's not all the time but enough so I know it's not a one time thing.
other than the sneezing he is acting normal.

thanks in advance.

his nose is moist. I did notice a couple of months ago he would take a breath and sound a bit congested, but that would only happen once in a few days. not sure if that was related to this. I'll take him in to see the vet.

While we are on the topic of cat sneezes, Lolo sneezes all the time and her eyes are ALWAYS goopy and red around the rims. Her breathing is fine. My vet swears that she is OK and that cats cannot have allergies or allergy medecine. I cannot remember which it was.

Does this make sense? Has anyone else had a cat with allergies? Did they have medecine?

Oddly enough, cats can often be allergic to things. Who'd a thunk, since it's usually the other way around. lol
Don't know that I've ever heard of a cat being put onto an allergy medication.
Red eyes accompanied by goop are often the signs of a Corona virus and yes, that can be treated. It is also common in households where there are multiple cats. :cat:

WOW, ok seems you guys are all over with this topic. Lets get a few things straight. Goopy eyes and sneezing DOES NOT MEAN CORONAVIRUS. It can be numerous things.
Not saying Coronavirus is not possible but can be herpes, can be TONS of things

CATS DO GET ALLERGIES, also dogs do. Allergies can be to many things. Foods, Clothing, Fibers, Immune Mediated- DO NOT JUST TREAT thinking its allergies ever!

to properly diagnose allergies a cat/dog needs to see a dermatologist. DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON BLOOD TESTS for allergies as these are not worth it.

Cats get FIV/FELV , very simliar to aids in humans

Tons out on the web BUTTTTTTT (huge but) only read articles from real sources, not some crazy cat lady who thinks she knows everything like many websites out there.

Anyone wants any articles more then happy to send you some to read
Cats should not sneeze more then a few times a day, if it is something that continues it warrants care.
