I had a Yuma (purple-multi colored) in my fuge in a floating thing to get it to attach to a piece of LR so I could put it in my tank. I woke up this morning to find the CC star stuck on it through the plastic. (there are holes so the water can pass through) The yuma's mouth is all icky and has goop coming out of it. Though the rest of it looks fine. I am running out now but will try and get a pic when I get home later on this afternoon.

My question is.. will I have a better chance of it surviving if I cut off the healthy tissue and hope it will heal and make a mouth, or leave it alone and hope for the best?

I am not happy about this in the least... so much for storing harley food and corals in the fuge. :smash::mad::banghead:

This is so frustrating!! I feel like such a goofball for making such a dumb decision to begin with. Anyways.. I just got in and snapped some pics...it looks much worse than it did this morning. I tried to glue the darn thing to rubble before making the decision to put it in the fuge and it kept releasing. I'm beginning to think this yuma just isn't meant to be for me. :( Pics are not the best quality though it's all I could come up with... the brown gooky stuff is where it's mouth was before all this... it seems to be desintigrating or whatever.

Any suggestions on what to do, how to cut it/where etc. are appreciated. I'd like to try to save this thing. Anyone that may have a similar experience and results.. that is appreciated to. TIA!

Wow it's worse then I imagined... if you can save the foot cut it off and try to grow it back.. if not then do you best to cut the healthy pieces of flesh off and let it sit in a container of rubble or else it will just keep on melting.

Well I cut off two pieces that looked like they were still okay and attached them to a piece of rock (I know I probably shouldn't have glued it but at this point my frustration level is high and I am throwing in the towel--) By some miracle hopefully it will pull through if not... one more tally on the live and learn list in my life...

Looks better.

Stop with the glue....
It'll only irritate the flesh & besides that....it just won't work.

LOL.. stubborn as I am... I have officially tossed the glue/yuma combo out the window after all this and tonight when I arrived home after picking up this fitting and that piece for the new set up.. to find that the two pieces I salvaged are floating around not attached to a thing in my fuge. LMAO... though they look good, for now. We will see. They aren't mushy at all and have "substance" if that makes any sense.

Kathy--- it was highly nasty and super stinky. Though the two pieces I managed to cut away weren't bad.. still seem pretty much okay. Will have to wait and see...
