Ok so I know that skimmers tend to do this after epoxy or super glue have been put into the water but I left the skimmer off for 8 hours now. When I plugged it back in, it started overflowing like crazy again and therefore triggering my ATO. I dont currently run carbon. How long should I wait before turning it back on again?

How much epoxy did you use.Wait 24 hours and see it could be something else. You didn't mentioned a collection cup. What do you use to collect the dirt?If you use a water bottle it should shutdown the skimmer when the water reaches the drain hose.

I usually wait for at least 12 hours. The two little fishies epoxy seems to be the worst for me. I've used the home depot epoxy and the recovery time is quicker.

It will be back to normal soon

Aquamend is pretty good. They sell it at target 3 sticks for 9.99

I have never had any issues with having my skimmer do anything when adding this to my system.

Try running some fresh batch of carbon after using epoxy or super glue.

I figured as much so thanks for confirming that but I have been running carbon in a reactor for 2 days now and when I turned the skimmer on, its still going cookoo. Just in case its from residue in the skimmer, I left it running but direct the waste tube back into the sump. Maybe if I let it run for a few hours it will allow the carbon to adsorb any remaining oils that were in the skimmer??
