Up for sale is a super rare rare deep water chromis approx 3 inches in size. He is a gorgeous blueish purple color but looks blue in the pictures from the flash. Im selling this for a friend of mine that bought it at LFS in the area, mainly because some of the other fish in his tank where going after him. He just wants to get rid of him to a good home. Price is $180 which is great considering he paid almost double that for it. I can deliver depending on location. There is a great article about it on reefbuilders check it out:

Sorry for the crappy picture quality I have a real bad camera.

mainly because it was to small for his tank and was getting a harassed. He has a 150 gallon FOWLR so he has very large and aggressive fish. I would keep it for myself, but its a bit to big for my tank.

Although the summer season usually means that the aquarium hobbies tend to slow down, that hasn’t stopped the rare fish from flowing into the U.S. The latest arrival is Chromis flavicauda, a deepwater Brazilian endemic damselfish which is very rarely collected since it only occurs in depths of over 200 feet and likely a relative of the newly described Chromis abyssus.

I think this is a damselfish, I have one of these.

Its not your average dameselfish as stated in the articled. I guess you forgot to read the last part of the sentence:

which is very rarely collected since it only occurs in depths of over 200 feet and likely a relative of the newly described Chromis abyssus.

yes, it does thats why in the pictures it looks blue but, in person it looks purple. I understand that it is considered a damesal, but that doesnt mean that is the same as everyother damsel on the market. If you saw it in person you would really know how different it really looks

Great discussion, now..............................:backtotop

Informative posts and questions about the fish are cool but getting snippy takes the thread and flushes it down the toilet. Lets keep it non confrontational and informative.

sorry about that, just hate when people keep making the same statements without reading the entire thread.
