Yesterday I was looking at my fuge and I noticed a clear jelly like slime in a small area of the surface. It does not come out in pictures because it is perfectly clear. It is similar to the texture of a jelly fish. Has anyone had this in their tanks before?

Not enough flow..If you leave it, it'll become 1in thick over time:bablefish.. Is this the system you want to add Amino acids to?? Hope not,,lol...

Why would I not want to add amino acids? Instead of laughing maybe explain. My fuge is a seperate tank that is plumbed off of the main pump. I do not have a high nutrients and I barely have to clean my glass, less than once a week. I have no nuisannce algea and an extremely low bioload for a 120gl. The slime first appeared on the valve to my calcium reactor effluent exit that I have directly in the overflow. So I do not think it is flow. I have other areas of the fuge with less flow and there is no slime there. I am more trying to find out what it is. It seems to have started when I began running ac in the room.

I wasn't laughing sorry for the confusion.. Aminos are like adding more nutrients... They will cause you phosphates to go up and that slime will be thicker just because of more protein in the water... I believe aminos should only be used in very low nutirent enviroments or you'll just end up growing hair algae all over the place with nice colors on your Sps..

Also can you take a picture of the area?? It's got to be flow if there is a film on the top of the water.. Everytank with not enough flow will have it..
Also do you run Metal halides over 175watt??, it sounds like you don't.. Not critisizing just trying to help you get to the bottom of this issue

No slime in there now, but I grabbed most of it to see what it was this morning. The fuge is 25 gallons, my sump has 40 gallons, and my display is a 120. I have 6 fish they are all under 3-4". There is no other surface film anywhere in the system. The fish are fine and my corals look ok. I will increase the flow a touch and see if it helps, but it is weird, only because it was attached right where the water is falling into the overflow box.
