Elos Test Kits

So, I'm about to start dosing 2 part. However, I keep getting an unusually high, 750ppm CA reading. Is this possible? I've performed the test three times.

My mag is .850 ppm/lt and my alk is 7 dKH.

I just did another CA test and it came out to 670 ppm. Still pretty high, isn't it?

Just make certain you don't have to divide your result by 2

Some kits like salifert have a high range and low range

Not certain about elos though

That's weird I've never seen Cal go that high.. What are you dosing with?? and do you have to divide the result that would be a better solution.. If not a water change is in order to get the pars back to normal..

I'm doing the water change tomorrow. I'm also dosing ALK and MG. I triple checked the test instructions and there isn't any division involved. I may pick another test kit. Any recommendations on that?

I use Salifert and have for a while now..

Thanks, I picked up the Salifert test, which is so much easier to use. I did a water change and then tested. My reading was 400 ppm CA. Much better. I'm about to do the Mg and Alk tests as well.
