I'm considering moon lighting fixture for my FOLR tank. At night when the lights go off, the tank is pitch black. I just want a little bit of light in the tank, i don't want the entire tank to glow blue. Can anyone with experience with any manufacture chime in. my tank is a 120G, not looking to spend alot of money. Thanks.

Are you looking to installing the moon lights for your pleasure or the fish? Most nights the ocean is a dark place. They have light controllers that have a moon light cycle.

both pleasures....i don't believe the reefs are always dark. The only time the reef is dark, when its a new moon. I have a controller already, looking for the lights at this point, i can program them on an off, just no program for dimming.

Some corals and fish use the moon light cycle to spawn in the wild. You having a moon light on your tank might be benefical.

do you know have pictures of the unit?

Mounted to nylon wedges:

Mounted under the euro-bracing:

Empty lit tank (the bottom of the tank is starboard):

These are at half power. At full power, they are brighter and all 4 light up. I centered them around keeping them at half power (with only 2 lit at a time).
