AquaController III

Hi people, I purchased this thing from another member, and it is totaly daunting me.

There are so many components in the box, and shopping bag that I have no idea where to begin.
The seller did tell me to call him if I have any questions, but I know how my brain works. I will not be able to wrap it around telephonic conversation.

What I need is for someone to show me how to get it hooked up.
I would be totaly in your debt if you could come, and help me set this thing up PLEASE..........................

Apparently this controller is not as good as I thought! Other wise more people would have it.:shhh:

A...what are you looking to have done? Is this the regular III - not the Pro?
Setting up the probes is easy, setting the timers/programming is ok (if I have my military time cheat sheet with me..lol). I haven't set up the data portion even on mine...I figure the computer is 2 feet away from my tank, so I didn't bother with it.

I can help, but probably not till the weekend sometime. LMK

I don`t know how to set one up but what i can do for you is ( wash the dishes, sweep and mop the floor, paint a few walls, walk the dog, some laundry, and one special thing i don`t do for most ..but for you i can even cook some rice and beans.. with some baked chicken)...lol..Sorry my love but hopefully this will bring a smile to you`re face and maybe some luck that someone here just go over and set this thing up for you while i`m cooking in the kitchen...lol....

Kat, I believe it is the regular III. Probes is not the problem. It's all those little white boxes (timers I guess). I could careless about the data part. I really got it for the peace of mind w/heaters, control of lights, and maybe power heads.

If you could help I would appreciate it greatly!

Exactly!LOL

I have the Reef Keeper 2 with the DC8, and that was a breeze!!
This one with all those (X10) white little boxes looks like instead of cleaning up my stand will clutter it even more.

I have never used this specific controller but have some experience with X10. The X10 stuff is not only more clutter but is also not as reliable. I also have a Reef Keeper2 and my heater (with its own thermostat) is plugged into the RK2 (for about 2 years.) However, I wanted an independent audible alarm when temperature is too high or too low. For that, I picked up ReefKeeper Lite (4 outlets) from Saltwater Critter for $99. I'd recommend to go RKL. It is simpler and more manageable. I hope that helps.

msharifa, I have the RK 2 on my reef currently. I was going to switch the RK2 to my fowlr, and use the AC on the reef.
That is not happening now. I've decided to make things simple on my self, and just keep the rk on the reef, and just continue using timers, and my ranco for my heaters on the fowlr.

I forget, does the ACII hace LAN (Ethernet) capability? If so, I think I can still help you out remotely, once we get all the goodies plugged in to the proper places.
