A little background: I've had verizon since I started using a cell phone. I'm from upstate NY and it's really the only reliable service up there. AT&T, Sprint, etc are terrible in Rochester, Albany, etc.

In the summer I was able to pick up a Blackberry. Finally. I like the internet and qwerty keyboard, but man. It's so incredibly buggy.

I'll click links and it will re-boot the same page, I'll try to enter a message, it will load, and then lose the the message.. When I finally can get the message to post, it doesn't always capture everything.. (don't even get me started on Reefberry's here :smokin:)

I know it's not the website because it happens with every one I go on.

Facebook doesn't download or update new status' (recently)...

The text messages usually take 10-15 seconds to send (which just reading it doesn't sound like a long time, but hit the send button and count to 15..)

To fix it, I've tried rebooting countless times, removing the battery and memory card, then rebooting. I've also tried running manual updates, and running it without the memory card... nothing has worked.

Also, I don't like Blackberry's music features and would like to be able to use iTunes and all the other great music features of the iPhone. ..nor do I like viewing pictures on the BB. The iPhone is much better at this IMO.

I have Opera Mini which is better than the standard (garbage) blackberry browser but it's still not great.

Now, on to the iPhone itself.. I've seen it many times, heard great things, and have used the internet portion of my brother's iPod touch, and was blown away by it. Here's the quandry. How to get the iPhone for myself :)

Anyone have suggestions? Are there any deals out there with other companies to essentially break Verizon's contract (I realize that's a STRETCH)..

Also, will look into an unlocked phone but don't want to spend too much $$ on it.

Thanks for reading my rambling. :D

I agree that the Iphone interface is absolutely fabulous but do not be fooled with the speed of an Ipod Touch/ Iphone on Wifi and and Iphone on AT&T 3G.

I also had to switch from Verizon (I go back to the Bell Atlantic days).

It wasn't just the speed, it was more the user controls; the fact that you can zoom in so easily, how quickly it will go from the top of a page to the bottom, the typing, (the fact that it doesn't have as many bugs) etc. etc. etc. It just makes more sense and is much smoother. Plus, the screen is almost 2x the size.

Just wait until June see what is in store for all the companies. If your blackberry is giving you a hard time then trade it in if you can for another phone.
