i am about to upgrade my lighting for my 90 tech tank. running 2x150 DE right now. my question is should i go with 400's or 250's ? i am getting more and more into sps. will 400's be over kill? can i mount them higher in the canopy? also, how high off the water should i have 250/400's of the water surface? thanks

250w is all you are going to need, as far as height i would start at 6" above the water line and go from there.

+1 on the 250W. The mounting height depends on what type of reflector you will be using. If you are going to use a good reflector like the Lumenarc or Lumenbright reflector, then a minimum of 8-14" would be recommended between the bulb and the water.
