Wtb: Achilles Tang

Hey guys I'm looking to buy a small to small/medium achilles tang. Please PM me your price. I know these fish aren't cheap but don't PM me with outrageous prices. Thanks much.

Yea you gotta go looking for the fish, I see them around me alot in central NJ, but both fish are always 170 and up, the chevrons by the way change color when they mature in case you didn't know. They turn an olive color with white stripes

Diver's Den have these Tangs occasionally. The Chevron have been showing up lately, $180 and it goes fast. If you want these, you'll need to be more active than just waiting for post responses.
I'd go with divers den. Sign up for the email alerts and go there around 6pm and hit refresh until the new fish show up.

DD Achilles usually sell in minutes so it may take a few tries before you snag one...but if I were going to buy an Achilles Divers Den would be the only place I would look.

The have a very poor survival rate. Buying from DD means it has been in quarantine for a few months and a 14 day guarantee. You will pay more but it is worth it, IMO.

Yeah zook, I just wait here and pray the fish appears in my fishtank when I awake in the morning. Of course I'm out there looking man. I'm just hoping to find one locally to avoid the additional shipping stress on the fish (I've had bad experiences with fish being shipped directly to me). Specially since the Achilles is so sensitive.

Thanks for the recommendations on diver's den guys, I'll be sure to give them a first look if nothing is found locally.

Cthought, I know queens is a bit of a ride, but there are 2 LFS near me which always has them. You can also check Absolute Fish in Clifton NJ. Although they tend to carry more chevrons than Achilles. They did have a nice 3-4 inch one there last week. I think about 220 for it.

Hey bbreef, thanks man. But $200 is a bit insane. They sell the show ones online for about 180 shipped. There's a 4-5 inch one in cali right now that they want $89 plus shipping on. I know these fish are expensive, but $200 is a bit loony toons. I really appreciate the heads up though. Thank you.

$200 isn't bad for a healthy one. Diversden sold a juvenile Achilles for $199 and it sold minutes after it posted.
