How can you or would seed base rock if you didn't want to put live rock in it?? Is there anyway you can do that???

While you can use all base rock to start a tank, at some point early on you want to add 1 piece of established live rock. Ideally a piece with coralline algae on it (you should scrape some off to also seed your tank with the coralline).
The critters from the piece of live rock will eventually seed the base rock.

Your sand will also, worst case I can give you some small pieces of rubble to get things going.

Would I seed and how? Absolutely yes. We use 75% dry base rock on every tank we install and seed those tanks with about 25% of the total rock with LR.

I used microbacter7 and a handful of rubble to seed the Marco rock in my 250g
