I dunno i've seen some really lazy canned food, house cats that wouldn't even bother with a mouse or birds.

I got a buddy who has a few like that, they don't even have front claws and don't care about anything but eating and being petted. Fish are a lot like cats, you have to have a particular one to know its temperament and what it likes and if it is reef safe or not. Anything you read about how a fish is supposed to act can be greatly changed by owning the actual fish. Nothing is absolute as you can see people in this thread saying their Flame's don't pose an issue with their reef and others would would not even dare risk it. I guess it also may depend on how much coral you have and how closely you watch your flame angel. Who knows for sure but there are no absolutes with living creatures.

Well, I've got a flame angel and a huge Koran Angel in my 270. The Koran is gorgeous with bright yellow on his fins and face. Unfortunately, they do nip at the corals. I only feed once per day, so I'm sure they get a little hungry and naughty. That being said, if you have a large enough system where the corals will heal and grow at a faster rate than the nipping, then IMO it doesn't matter. These fish can be found in natural reefs so its all part of the food chain. But to answer your question, YES they will all nip and eat corals...whether people actually see them do it is another question.
