I'm considering breaking down my 75g due to a lack of time and an impending move. I'm planning on keeping all of my equipment and most of my livestock so that I can set it up again after we move and settle in for awhile. So anyway, I'm wondering if I can use some of my equipment on the 24g Aquapod that I have. So here are my questions...

1: Has anyone drilled the back of an Aquapod? Anything I should know about it?

2. I usually say that you can't overskim... but I'm wondering if my ASM G3 may be a bit much on a 24g... thoughts?

Custom king, an MR vendior has sold some nano tanks that I have seen is sold with sumps in bottom of stand. So I would check with him on the drilling. He is in the vendor section. I know on his sumps that they are acrylic, but since he sell some nano tanks with sumps, he may have some insight.

However, I think your equipment such as light and skimmer won't do well with the down size. There are really nice equipment lighting and skimmers for these small tanks, so it may be better to not use this equipment on this much smaller tank.

I am a big convert to these AIO tanks. I have a 55 gallon reef and a Solana nano tank. Boy, do I love the clean look this tank gives, along with its design. On a nana tank, there are compromises, but getting the right equipment can keep them functioning very nice.

Funny, I talked to a reefer today, that thought that the nano's were to simplistic and small to be maintained for any length of time. I explained the advantages, such as built in sump, using a controller, etc. I may get a convert on my hands.

He had a huge 240 gallon tank that was beautiful. He was not using an ATO. I told him to get a controller and start automating. Told him about the Reef Keeper Lite ( that was recommended to me from a reefer ) that converted me and he was intrigued.

Without a doubt, smaller tanks have their challenges. Boy, are they a lot of fun.

Good luck,
