I had a friend I worked with after college. An older gentleman came into the store and was just kinda wandering around. My friend walked up and asked if she could help him.
He said he had just buried his wife of 40 years, and was kinda lost.
My friend and he struck up a friendship that lasted a long time, all because she just talked to him.

My wife told me to go for it.
Bad Coffee I am always polite. I think she was just a lonely lady looking for someone to talk to. She was well versed in sailing and sailboats, more so than me and I have a Captain's License. She was very well dressed and I could tell she was well educated. I actually enjoyed our conversation and if I had time I would have spoken to her longer because she has lived in that town where my boat is for many decades.
I am used to older ladies as my Mother died last year at 99 and my wife's Mom is 85.
These people have a lot of knowledge that will soon be lost to either dementia or just death.
My own Mother used to tell me stories about when she lived in Little Italy downtown Manhattan and the street lights were still gas lights. When they installed electric lights in about 1915 everyone would go outside on their porch to watch the lights come on and they would all cheer.
These are memories that we only get from older people and we should take the time to listen to them before they are lost.
I am getting there myself and I was here during the first days of saltwater aquariums.
I was even here for the beginnings of fresh water aquariums before there were pet shops, when fish were sold in department stores or toy stores as toy fish.
They came in cardboard containers like Chinese food comes in. Fish food was dried ants, there was no Tetra Min.
I was asked to speak on the history of the hobby twice so far and I enjoy it because not many people know these things. For instance, Instant Ocean salt was started and owned by the owner of STP. The oil we used to put in our car.

I did also a few times when I was 20 and in the army. Now if they are 15 years older than me they are in their 70s. Not something I want to think about, at least until I am in my 80s.
When I was 20 and got picked up by a 35 year old, it was great.

Nothing wrong w/ older woman I got a nice hottie chasing me who's 10 years older. Of course that makes her 35 eventhough she looks 25 and she's a model/dancer but hey lol. Like everyone said she's obviously loaded as F you don't have to necessarily bang the broad but who knows she might be lonely not have any family and you might get put in the will anyway. We are a bunch of cold hearted bastards on here everyone is all about the money!
P.S. If your wife says "go for it" and it happens then you can tell her "hey honey you DID say go for it" That my friend is called a get booty free card. :tongue1:
