alk being too high. Do test your water.

ok so these are my readings
CA - 460
MG - 1500
ALK - tested on my hanna checker got a 4.7 then tested with my salifert got a 7.0 so iam gonna go with the 7.0

one thing is when i do dose alk i pour it right into my vortech which the sps is right in front of but i havent dosed in over a week but maybe that can be it???
also just changed my bulbs last sunday

Could be that. I would try lowering CA, and MG. When Ca is high it can also cause problems.

You have to balance your Ca/alk, they have inverse relationship only when water is super saturated. Start dosing only Alk slowly but not directly at the sps but where theres lots of flow to mix it, your Ca will eventually drop assuming you dont dose Ca. Once you have both parts balanced, then you can start dosing them equally. I am not even sure if you dose 2 parts regularly or just relying on waterchange.
